Sandusky City scorches at Sandown

On a wet and gloomy day at Sandown's Betfair Park on Wednesday July 14th, Iron horse Sandusky City brightened things up for connections with a breath taking performance in the Betfair Handicap (1000 metres).

The speedy son of Elusive City wasted no time offsetting his tricky draw of barrier 14, when he showed blistering speed to lead the field easily and travel comfortably through the extremely heavy conditions which he was experiencing for the first time in his career.

Victoria's in form apprentice Adam McCabe was in the saddle for his 3rd victory at only his 4th attempt on the horse he described as a joy to ride, McCabe said Sandusky City had sensational speed and an outstanding will to win, the hoop was also quick to heap praise upon the gelding's trainer Grant Craven and his team of staff at Riverend Park who have prepared the horse to win on 6 occasions this preperation which seems to be getting better with every run.
